Camp WILD- Summer 2021

Summer Camp WILD is a week-long series, Monday – Friday all summer long!  Camp WILD is designed for children ages 5-10.  Each week is a new opportunity for children to have fun and learn through informal, hands-on, inquiry-based activities including informative zoo tours, exciting animal encounters, collaborative teamwork, creative art, and educational games.  Camp immerses children in nature while fostering friendships and a love for the natural world.

Please note that in an effort to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, and maintain a safe environment for the campers, staff, and animals, we have decreased the capacity for campers each week.

Due to the smaller group size, Camp WILD will be offered by age to ensure developmentally appropriate curriculum for those campers each week.

July 05, 2021 – July 09, 2021

The natural world is full of opportunities, dangers, and challenges!  Navigate lush ecosystems as an animal and see if you have what it takes to be successful as a species.  Learn unique and fun ways to identify species, tracks, and explore natures survival tips. Master animal and plant adaptations to learn how those may help your animal to survive! Get ready for some fun and creative thinking to be sure your animal can rise above in the animal kingdom!

Nature the Artist

July 26, 2021 – July 30, 2021

Nature has incredible ways of incorporating symmetry, patterns, textures, colors, sounds and so much more!  Explore the amazing works of art that nature has to offer through hands-on sensory based activities, using found nature as the “paintbrush” for our activities.  Learn new skills or put your own to the test.  Create your own works of art, or leave them in nature for the next person to find or for the wind to blow through.  Investigate shapes and patterns in shells, colors in plants, and mimicry through animals.  Each are a part of nature’s pallet!
